MISSION BACKGROUND
You are a recent graduate of the Alliance flight
officer's school. Upon graduation, you are assigned to the
frigate LIBERATOR.
The liberator is an independent operations frigate. It's
new tour is a one year convoy raiding mission in the outer
rim territories.
Along with you there are three other recent graduates
assigned to the Liberator. Graduating number one in your
class makes you brevet flight leader, until you prove
yourself, or you screw up, whichever comes first.
This is a tour designed for beginners, the more expert
pilots may find this too easy. there are three wingmen
available for use. They all have different levels of ability
and you will soon find out who is the best.
NOTE: IN ORDER TO FINISH THE MISSIONS YOU HAVE TO ENTER
HYPERSPACE
MISSIONS
Mission #5 and #9 are the toughest. here are some hints
for them:
Mission #5: try to ignore the frigate, you don't have
to kill it to win, It does help though.
Mission #9: once the TIE's are killed, go after the
corvettes. It takes 6 proton torpedoes to kill one, you
might want to try to get up close, use three torps and
then lasers to kill it off.
TECH STUFF
to setup the TOD type SETUP, the rest is automatic.
the install program makes backup copies of your missions.lfd
and title.lfd files, and placed the missions in the missiond
directory. to uninstall the program, just type:
COPY missions.ori *.lfd
COPY title.ort *.lfd
in the resource directory, this will return your TOD's to
what they were before.
There are three pilot files included here: Kieth, Ken, and
Sturmer, these are your optional wingmen.
GRATITUDE
Lotsa thanks to Henry Chang and his xdk1.1 mission builder.
Also thanks to Ken Braatz and Hangar 18 BBS
Keith, sturmer and the rest of the people in the X-Wing
group, especially all those people that complained that the
original missions were too tough!!
